Vladimir Abramovich served in the Armed Forces of the USSR (1973-1975, 1979-1983). In 1983-1986, an adjunct of the Military Institute of Physical Culture. Since 1988, Head of the Department of Physical Training and Sports of the Moscow V.I. Lenin Political-Military Academy (since 1995 Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation).
