Vladimir Agafonikovich graduated from high school in Nizhny Novgorod (1893). He graduate of History and Philology Department of Moscow University (1900). Member of the revolutionary movement (since 1898).
Vladimir Agafonikovich was a lecturer of the Voronezh Male Pro-Gymnasium and the Mikhailovsky Voronezh Cadet Corps (1902-1905). He was a member of the provincial district council (1902-1905), the chairman of the statistical department.
In early 1906, Vladimir Agafonikovich was arrested and expelled from Voronezh. Member of the cooperative movement (since 1912).
Since 1913 lived in Moscow. After 1917, a teacher in higher educational institutions of Moscow and Central Asia. He was a head of the Department of Theory and History of Cooperation of the Central Asian State University (Tashkent, 1928-1931), professor of the Department of Methods of Teaching Economic Disciplines at the High Pedagogical Institute of Economics and Commodity Research (Moscow, 1930-1931).
Vladimir Agafonikovich was sent into exile in Novosibirsk (1931-1934). Since 1934 was in Moscow.
Vladimir Agafonikovich is the author of about 50 books and brochures on the history and theory of cooperation, published in 1906-1928 in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kharkov, Yaroslavl and other cities. In the 1960s, the personal archive of Kilchevsky was transferred to the museum of the Cooperative Technical School (Perlovka, Mytishchinsky district, Moscow region).
