Since 1964, he was a graduate student, lecturer, associate professor, professor of the Department of Physical Geography; organizer and head (since 1986) of the Department of Nature Management and Nature Protection; organizer and head (since 2000) of the Department of Nature Management; since 1990 Dean of the Department of Geography and Geoecology of the Voronezh State University. Chairman of the Voronezh Department of the Russian Geographical Society.
