Vladimir Ivanovich Sysoev was born on April 11, 1940, in Voronezh, Russian Federation.
Vladimir Ivanovich graduated from Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute(now Voronezh State Pedagogical University) in 1961.
Vladimir Ivanovich played for the national teams of the RSFSR (1959-1964). He was also a coach of the RSFSR women's national team (1969-1974), senior coach of the Voronezh region women's basketball team (1969-1994). Vladimir Ivanovich was known as a senior lecturer at Voronezh Institute of Civil Engineering (1965-1982), and Head of the Department of Sports Games (1984-1997), Director (since 1997), Rector (since 2006) of Voronezh State Institute of Physical Culture. President of the Regional Olympic Academy (since 2001).
Vladimir Ivanovich is an author of about 100 scientific and educational works on the issues of physical culture and sports.
