Vladislav Shayevich was born on February 2, 1947 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He comes from a family of an army officer.
In 1971 Vladislav Shayevich graduated from the philological faculty of Saratov State University. In 1989 he became Doctor of Philology. In 1990 he became a professor.
Since 1974 to 1981 Vladislav Shayevich worked as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor of the Department of Literature, Borisoglebsk State Pedagogical Institute (part of Voronezh State University since 2014). Since 1981 to 2000 he was an associate professor, professor, head of the Department of Russian Literature at Yelets State Pedagogical Institute (Yelets State University named after Ivan Bunin since November 2000). Since 2000 he has been working as a professor of the Classic Russian Literature Department at Samara State Pedagogical University.
Vladislav Shayevich arranged some scientific conferences on cultural issues in the Russian province and participated therein (since 1990). He has his works published in Russian and foreign academic journals. He conducted over 200 research studies and worked on some education materials, including monographs. In 1996 Vladislav Shayevich became High Achiever in Public Education. In 1999 he became Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. He was an associate member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1999). In 2014 Vladislav Shayevich Krivonos won the All-Russian Contest for the Best Book in the "Human sciences" nomination (for his work "History of Russian Literature of the XXI Century", 1800-1830).
