Yakushiji Shiko was born on 1889 in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Original personal name: Denbe.
Yakushiji Shiko became judge of Tokyo District Court (1917) but soon resigned and assumed post as professor of Hosei University where he held chair of civil law; meantime practiced law.
He went to Germany, France and England for study; received degree (1934). Among his works are "On Laws Concerning Leases of Land and Houses", "On General Lien" and "On Japanese Relations Law". After the war published series of works on Relations Law including "The Divorce Problems After the Promulgation of the New Civil Law".
