Yasuo Yamato served as professor of Koyasan College, professor of Nihon University (1927), instructor of Tsuda Juku College (1943), instructor of the Tokyo Bunrika University (1946) and professor of Nihon University.
Famous as a scholar on romantic poems of Britain. Under the pen name Yoji Kusabu, engaged in writig novels. Author of "Appreciation of English Literature" and "Romanticism in English Literature." Translated Keats' "Endymion" and Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights".
