Career
External student, intern, then assistant, Faculty Therapy Clinic, Moscow University. 1911-1920 associate professor, from 1920 professor, Propedeutic Therapy Clinic, 1st Moscow University. From 1922 assistant chairman, Moscow Therapeutic Social.
From 1928 bd member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Therapists’ Social. Attended and read papers at congresses and conferences of therapists. Twice sent abroad on sci assignments, working at Salkovsky and Hofmeister’s chemical laboratory and touring Krauss and Wenkebaeh’s clinics.
Introduced and studied urobilinogen in Russia and traced its importance in the explanation of urobilinuria. First to induce artificial urobilinuria. 1921 first to isolate bile pigment from the urine and make a chemical analysis of lieutenant
In latter years specialized in metabolism in the course of prolonged starvation. Company-ed, therapy section, 1st ed of Bol’shaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya (Large Medical Encyclopedia). Wrote more than 30 works, including textbooks.
