Specialized in automotive theory. 1928 published Dinamiclieskoye i ekonomicheskoye issledovaniye avtomobilya (A Dynamic and Economic Study of the Automobile), in which he provided a sci analysis of the relationship between the design features of the automobile and its functions as a means of transport. Studied the durability of automobiles and the reliability of automotive parts.
Solved numerous problems relating to the reliability of machine parts and the theories of friction and metal wear, thus making a major contribution to mech engineering in general. From 1949 member, Main Editor Board, Biosystems Engineering (Large Soviet Encyclopedia). Member, Soviet Peace Defense Committee.
