Yevsey Osipovich worked as an actor in the province since 1904 . In the period 1908-1913 he repeatedly toured in Voronezh. He played in Chisinau, Orel, Kiev, Samara and other cities. Among the roles of this period: Famusov ("Woe from Wit" by Alexander Griboedov), Franz Moor ("The Robbers" by Friedrich Schiller), the Mayor ("The Government Inspector" by Nikolai Gogol), Frol Fedulych ("The Last Victim" by Alexander Ostrovsky) and others.
From 1914 he acted as a director, he directed theaters in Baku, Astrakhan, Saratov and other cities. Since 1922, he worked in the Moscow Theater named after the Moscow City Council of Trade Unions (since 1938, the Mossovet Theater). Since 1941, he was an actor of the Maly Theater.
