Together with Yukitomo Date and others Yoshinori Nitta raised an army of loyalists at Mutsu (northern Japan) and fought the Soma Clan at Reizan (1375). He waged a successful battle against Ujimitsu Ashikaga, governor-general of Kanto and followed up his success to Shirakawa (1396). He is recorded to have been killed by Mitsukane Ashikaga at Sokokura in Sagami (Kanagawa Prefecture).
