Yuliya Timofeevna graduated from Novosibirsk secondary school in 1945, later graduated from philological Department of the History and Philology faculty of Voronezh State University in 1950.
In 1954-1961 Yuliya Timofeevna was the associate professor of Russian language department in Kishinev State Teaching Institute (now Kishinev State University). Since 1961 she was the associate professor (professor since 1983) of Russian language department in Voronezh State University; deputy dean of Philology faculty in Voronezh State University for international students (1961-1981). Professor of theoretical linguistics section in Berlin University (1984-1986).
In 1985 Yuliya Timofeevna ran a meeting among former German students studying at Philology faculty of Voronezh State University in Berlin. She was awarded by German Democratic Republic government with different medals for developing Soviet-German friendship.
Yuliya Timofeevna was an author of more than 230 scientific works, including monographs: "Intersystem Language Phenomena in Russian Fiction Literature of 19th Century" (Voronezh, 1979), "Selection and Use of Foreign Language Inclusions in the Russian Literary Speech of the XIX Century" (Voronezh, 1986). Participated in development of more than 30 manuals for schools and higher education institutions.
