Yuri Borisovich Kobzarev

Background

Yuri Kobzarev was born on December 8, 1905 in Voronezh, Russian Empire (now Voronezh, Russian Federation).

Education

He graduated from the faculty of physics and mathematics of Kharkov Institute of National Education (nowadays Kharkov State University).

Career

Yuri Borisovich was a research scientist at Leningrad Institute of physics and technology since 1926. He was the head of the department of radiolocation of Moscow Power Engineering Institute since 1943. Yuri Borisovich was a research scientist at Military Research Institute in 1950-1960; research scientist at Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics of the USSR Academy of Sciences since 1955; at the same time professor at Budyonny Military Academy of the Signal Corps.

Yuri was a chairman of All-Union conference organizing committee "Priem sverhnizkochastotnyh kolebaniy i ustroistva dlya ih obrabotki" (Voronezh, 1983, 1987).

Achievements

Yuri Borisovich was one of the developers of domestic radar technology, including radar stations. He created a new scientific direction related to the study of radio-thermal radiation.
