Alexander Markov was born on November 4, 1901 in Rusanovo village, Tambov region, Russian Federation.
During the Great Patriotic War he was the main therapist of the 4th, then the 8th army, the main therapist of the Trans-Baikal Front. He was a professor of the Central Tuberculosis Scientific Research Institute of the USSR Ministry of Public Health. More than 30 years he was the deputy editor of the journal "Clinical Medicine".
