Arnold Clayton Henderson earned his Bachelor of Arts in English at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York (1960), and his Master of Arts (1963) and Doctor of Philosophy (1973) in English from the University of California, Berkeley. He also studied at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (1960-1961), and the University of Pans (1965-1966).
Arnold Henderson was assistant professor of English and art at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, 1970-1980, and also taught at Rider University (New Jersey) and elsewhere. He was on the photography staff of the Studio (University of California, Berkeley), from 1965 to 1969.
As photographer and poet, Arnold Clayton Henderson has published over a half dozen books of his work (with more envisaged), available for web-viewing and on-demand publishing through the www site of Blurb/bookstore.
His work has been included in the major international traveling exhibitions and related books "Nouveau nues" (Paris: Contrejour, 1981), and La Photographie fantastique (Paris: Contrejour, 1979; republished in English as Fantastic Photography, New York: Pantheon,1979). Work is included in the Bibliotheque nationale de France (Paris), Architectural Museum (Ljubliana, Slovenia), and private collections.
In his other careers as editor and environmental commissioner he is the science editor and part author (as Arnold Henderson) of the Grolier Library of Environmental Concepts and Issues (New York: 8 vols, 1996). He is the associate editor (as Arnold C. Henderson) of Bridge Inspection and Rehabilitation, A Practical Guide (New York: John Wiley & Sons, 1993).
