In 1955 he graduated after 10 years from the secondary school of Moscow. In June 1961 he graduated from the IM Sechenov’s 1st Moscow Medical Institute (1MMI) majoring in "Medical business". In 1965 he got a degree of Doctor of Medicine at the Berlin Humboldt University (GDR). December 29, 1967 he defended his thesis and got a degree of candidate of medical sciences. November 23, 1979 defended his thesis on "Theoretical basis and control system of the human condition under conditions of weightlessness" and received a doctorate in medical sciences. In 1982 he was granted the title of a professor.
Since April 16, 1960 he worked as a laboratory assistant of the 2nd department of military unit 26266 (CPC).
Since November 22, 1960 he worked as a laboratory assistant of the 10th department of the Research Institute-7 of the Air Force (Institute of Aerospace Medicine - IAiKM). He was engaged in physiology.
Since January 26, 1961, he worked as a junior research assistant (MSc) of the 16th laboratory of the 16th Department of the 2nd managing department of the IA & KM. Since January 1961, he was a member of a group of paratrooper physicians created to provide medical assistance to cosmonauts as soon as possible after landing. During the flight of Yuri Gagarin, was on duty at one of the reserve landing sites in Siberia.
Since January 23, 1964 worked as a doctor of science. Laboratory No. 1 of the Institute of Space Biology and Medicine (Institute of Medical and Biological Problems) of the Ministry of Health of the USSR.
Since March 27, 1964 he worked as the head of the laboratory "KL" IBMP.
May 26, 1964, he was supported at a meeting of the credentials committee, and on May 29, 1964, by order of the Air Force Commander, he was enrolled in the group preparing for the flight to the Voskhod spacecraft.
