Boris Osykov is a prose-writer, local historian, member of the Union of Journalists (1960), member of the Writers' Union of Russia (2001), honored cultural worker of the Russian Federation, award winner of the All-Russian contest "We are proud of our Fatherland" (for the book "Belogorye of Russia", Belgorod, 2004).
Background
Boris Osykov was born on April 25, 1937, in Voronezh. Osykov’s maternal grandfather is Voronezh architect and painter, Dmitry Semenovich Kuznetsov, who was fond of collecting ancient coins, antiquities and art objects. Together with parents Osykov lived in the village of Nizhnedevitsk (1938-1939), the city of Rossosh (1939-1941) of the Voronezh Region, was evacuated from the front-line Voronezh.
Education
Since 1947, he was in the city of Stary Oskol, Kursk Region, where he graduated from secondary school. After that, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Belgorod State Pedagogical Institute
Career
He was engaged in journalism. He is the author of many books, including those published in Voronezh: "Rodina Gaidara" (1972), "Arkady Gaidar: Literaturnaya hronica" (1975), "Belogorie, Sinie Dali" (1977), "Ya rodilsya v sele Krasnom..." (1981), "Belgorod alphavit" (1990). Osykov also wrote several books for children.
