Boris Abramovich Naravtsevich was born on August 18, 1924 in Perm, Russian Federation. He was the son of a theatre administrator. In the early 1930s Boris Abramovich and his parents moved to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg).

In 1947 Boris Abramovich graduated from the school-studio at the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after M. Gorky in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg).
During 1949-1952 Boris Abramovich worked as a performing artist and a director in the troupe of the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after M. Gorky in Saint Petersburg. Since 1952, he was the director (since 1956 the main director) of Astrakhan Young Spectator’s Theater. In 1961-1962, Boris Abramovich was the director of Astrakhan Drama Theater. In 1963-1966, he worked as the main director of Voronezh Young Spectator's Theater. During 1966-1970, Boris Abramovichthe was the main director of Ryazan Young Spectator's Theater. Since 1970 he was the main director of Gorky Young Spectator’s Theater. Since 1971 Boris Abramovich taught at Gorky Theater School.
Boris Abramovich was married and had one daughter.
