Career
He was a favorite with his lord, Shingen Takeda, and his son, Katsuyori. Together with Katsusuke Atobe, another retainer, he looked after all affairs of the Takeda family. Although he is considered generally to have been a flatterer who led the family of his lord to decline, he seems to have been only a mediocre man of loyalty. This is suggested by the fact that he killed himself when Katsuyori died.
