Chuzaburo Kurosawa was involved in the Incident that happened on March 3, 1860 when he peformed an unexpected attack on Naosuke Ii, Prime Minister of the Shogunate, as the latter came out of Sakuradamon Gate. He was wounded in the encounter but managed to get away and surrendered himself to Lord Wakizaka, another Shogun Minister. The following year he was sentenced to death and executed.
