He studied at the Music School (1928-1931, composition class of N. Heifetz, piano class of E.Girovsky, Rostov on Don), Moscow Central Correspondence Institute of Music and Pedagogics (1936-1940, piano class T. Berkman, theory class Y. V. Capina, I.I. Dubovsky).
He was the participant of the 2nd Decade of Soviet music (1940-1941, Voronezh), where his "Suite on Russian themes" was performed. The head of the army ensemble (1942). He was a teacher of piano and theoretical subjects at the Voronezh Music School (1943-1945). He had taught at the music school in Minsk since 1945.
