Fenton Strickland Martin

Background

Fenton Strickland Martin was born on November 3, 1943 in Topeka, Kansas, United States. She is the daughter of Charles Kenneth and Fenton Lyle (Wambersie) Strickland.

Education

Martin graduated from Florida State University with Bachelor of Science degree in 1964. Also she obtained her Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University in 1970.

Career

Martin held a position of head of the library and archivist of department of political science at Indiana University since 1971.

Achievements

• For her achievements as a writer, Martin won Outstanding Academic Books Award for Choice in 1985-86, and for Policy Analysis and Management and The Presidency in 1987-88, as well as for The U.S. Supreme Court in 1991-92.
  
  In addition, she received Outstanding Reference Sources Award for Choice in 1995, and for The United States Congress in 1980-1990.
