Gennady Onisimovich worked in financial and planning organizations, a member of the Presidium of the Council of National Economy of the Central Black Earth region, director of the plant named after the Comintern.
In 1935-1937 the chairman of the Voronezh City Council. Under his leadership, significant improvements were made in the socio-economic life of the city: a network of street committees was deployed, communications were established with district councils, public housing construction gained momentum, a number of large schools, kindergartens, medical institutions and other facilities were built, and water, sewer and tram lines were expanded and other networks, the developed network of public catering was created.
In 1937, unreasonably repressed, shot.
