Hideaki Kohayagawa was born in 1582. He was the son of Sadaie Kinoshita. He was the nephew of Hideyoshi Toyo-tomi’s wife and was later adopted by Tafcakage Kohayagavva (1594) and appointed his heir.

Hideaki Kohayagawa was appointed a general by Hideyoshi during the expedition to Korea but he did not distinguish himself in any way (1597). During the battle of Sekigahara (1600) he turned traitor and helped Teyasu Tokugawa defeat.
