Hiroji Kinoshita attended Daigaku Nanko (predecessor of Tolcyo University on a scholarship (1870) and later studied law at Meihory. Proceeded to France for further studies.
Hiroji Kinoshita was in turn professor at Tokyo University, principal of First Higher School and Director of Bureau of Collegiate Affairs. When Kyoto University was founded (1891) became its first president.
Hiroji Kinoshita was nominated member of House of Peers (1891).
