Hirose Korokuro

Background

Hirose Korokuro was born in Niigata Prefecture.

Education

Graduated from the Civil Engineering Section of Tokyo University (1923) and then from the Medical Department of the same university (1930).

Career

Served as instructor and assistant professor of the university; appointed professor (1942) and concurrently official of the Public Hygene Board of Ministry of Welfare. During the above period, studied various problems of surface and subterranean water drainage and contributed to its development in Japan. Author of "Science of Underground Drainage System", "The Water Drainage Hygiene" and "Science of Water Works".
