Career
During the war he edited "Modern Literature" and encouraged many new writers to write for it. Most of the articles contained in the magazine had an antiwar trend, but not so much as to land him into trouble with the authorities. Is noted for his sharp criticisms. He was also a sports writer, specialized in baseball.
