Jo Ueda graduated from Tokyo University in 1916. Later he became a Doctor of Science.
Jo Ueda worked as a professor at Kyoto University since 1931. He was technician attached to the Latitude Observatory, assistant professor at Tokyo University. Later he became a director of Kazan Astronomical Observatory and Mt. Ikoma Astronomical Museum. His popular books include "Astronomical Observation" and "The Solar Eclipse."
