Kango Takemura was born in 1882 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan.
Kango Takemura entered the Ministry of Railways. He became assistant professor of Tokyo University (1906) and rose to become a professor (1920). During this time undertook several studies in the field of mechanical engineering and allied fields and obtained his doctor's degree (1921).
Retired from Tokyo University (1942) due to age limit and became professor emeritus of the same university and also a professor of Nihon University.
He was a councilor of Japanese Mechanical Society, a commissioner of the Industrial Standards Inquiry Committee, a councilor of Tokyo Scientific Museum and adviser to the Isuzu Automobile Company.
