She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Voronezh State University (1988).
Larisa Nikolaevna worked as a correspondent of the regional newspaper "Znamya" (Kaluga city, 1988-1990) and "Voronezh Courier" (1991). Since 1991 she had been an editor of the Voronezh State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. She worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism in the Voronezh State University (since 2000). Larisa Diakova is the author of many scientific works devoted to the problems of the bard movement.
Since 1994 she has been the Head of the Urban Club of the author's song "Parus" and the organizer of the international festival of the author's song "Sail of Hope". Larisa Nikolaevna is the winner of the All-Russian festival of the author's song in memory of V. Vysotsky (Volgograd, 2003), winner of the Grand Prix of the first All-Russian festival of journalistic song "Mediatr" (Tver, 2003).
