Lehira Kiyohara

Background

Lehira Kiyohara was born in Japan. He was the grandson of Takenori, belonging to the powerful family in Mutsu.

Career

Lehira Kiyohara was first involved in a battle for supremacy with his half-brother, Sanehira, but was defeated when Yoshne Minamoto, the Lord of Mutsu, came to This opponent’s help (1083). Later he was again on the war path against another half-brother, Kiyohira, and this time he was killed at the fortress of Kanazawa where he had retreated after being beaten. This incident is called Gosannen-no-Eki.
