She received a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse in 1969, and a candidate for an MS degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She also attended the Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, in 1972, and the Alliance Française, Paris, in 1975.
She was an instructor at the Creative Photo Lab, MIT, and has been a freelance photographer since 1969. Other work experience includes being a lecturer in photography at the London College of Printing (1977-79) and a teacher of English at both the Technip in Paris (1973-75) and the American Language Institute in Lisbon, Portugal (1972-73).
Benedict-Jones' work was featured in "Arena, Program of the Arts," by the BBC in November 1976, which was later included in the National Film Archives of England. In 1977 she received a grant from the Arts Council of Great Britain.
