PEVZNER, Manuil was born in 1872.
1900 graduate Medical Faculty, Moscow University.
After graduate specialized in therapeutics and dietology at Moscow University hospital clinics. From 1908 lectured on gastrointestinal diseases at Moscow University. 1921 founder, Department of Diseases of the Digestive Organs and Dietetics (later Dietetic Clinic), Spa Clinic, Health Resort Department, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Health.
1924-1927 associate professor, 1st Moscow University. From 1927 professor, Chair of Diseases of the Digestive Organs and Dietetics, Institute of Balneology. From 1932 head, Chair of Dietetics, Centr Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training, Moscow.
Made a major contribution to the development of theoretical and practical dietetics in the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. Led trend from organotherapy to dietotherapy as a means of influencing the body as a whole and its reactive properties in particular, did research on dietetics for acute and chronic rheumatism, heart diseases and hypertonia and extended his findings to the treatment of other diseases, wrote over 100 works.
