Masao Kamo was born in Ehime Prefecture.
In 1898 Kamo Masao graduated in engineering from Tokyo University.
After graduation Masao Kamo remained there as an assistant professor till he left for further studies to England, America, France and Germany (1906). Upon return (1912) he rejoined his University as professor and was conferred a doctorate (1913). As the chief representative of Japan has attended four motive power World Congresses, the first in 1924. Masao Kamo has also been Japan's chief delegate to the International Refrigeration Congress five times. Is Emeritus professor of Tokyo University, Dean of Hosei University's engineering faculty, and President of the Efficiency Association of Japan.
