Did research on clinical aspects of cardiovascular diseases. Hypothesized that blood circulation is assisted by rythmic contraction and expansion of the blood vessels. Devised clinical methods of examining osmotic stability of erythrocytes.
Laid particular emphasis on physiotherapy within the framework of general therapy and established a physiotherapy section at Saint St. Petersburg Clinical Military Hospital. Wrote 35 works.
