Nikolai Ivanovich graduated from the ceramic technical college of the city of Mirgorod, Poltava, Ukraine. He entered Faculty of Art and Graphics of the I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University (former Chuvash State Pedagogical Institute).
Nikolai Ivanovich lived in Voronezh since 1998. In 1962-1998 he worked as an artist in Gzhel, Gus Khrustalny, Ulyanovsk, Cheboksary. Since 1964 he participated in city, regional, district, republican, all-Union exhibitions.Solo exhibitions of Plonish works were held in the Central House of Writers and the House of Children's Book (Moscow, 1986).
He died on May 22, 2004 during a creative trip.
