Nikolay Petrovich studied for three years at the Riga Polytechnic Institute (now Riga Technical University), graduated from the Mathematics Department of the Physics and Mathematics Department of Yuriev University (now University of Tartu) (1907), and remained at the university to prepare for a professorship. Chairman of student gatherings (1905-1907). Sent to the city of Cherny Yar, Astrakhan province.
In 1909-1918 he lived in Saint Petersburg, where Nikolay Petrovich taught at various secondary schools. Since 1918, an assistant to the Department of Pure Mathematics, a member of the board (1922-1924), Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education (1924-1928), Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics (1921-1928) of the Voronezh State University. The author of works on differential equations. Deputy Chairman of the Voronezh Mathematical Society (since 1920).
From his youth he was fond of chess, music, theater, literature, played on stage, wrote poetry, performed dramatization on the works of A.P. Chekhov.
