Sternlicht, Sanford was born on September 20, 1931 in New York City. Son of Irving Stanley and Sylvia (Hilsenroth) Sternlicht.


Bachelor of Science, State University of New York, Oswego, 1953. Master of Arts, Colgate University, 1955. Doctor of Philosophy, Syracuse University, 1962.
