Career
After graduating from Tokyo University Shozu Inoue became instructor at Senshu University, then professor at Tokyo Higher School (1949) to eventually be appointed assistant professor at Tokyo College of Engineering. A scholar of German, he is an authority on Heine. Among his works are "Heinrich Heine," "On Mehling," "Fascism and Literateur" and many translations of Heine’s works.
