Shun-O Maru was born in Japan. He was son of Mochiuji Ashikaga and elder brother of An-o-Maru.

Career
After Mochiuji killed himself on being defeated by Norizane Uesugi (1439), the brothers took refuge in the Nikko mountains (Tochigi Prefecture). The following year, the brothers became masters of Yuki Castle, supported by Ujitomo Yuki. They were defeated, captured and killed in Mino Province (Gifu Prefecture) while en route to Kyoto.
