Teizo Toda was born on March 6, 1887 Hyogo, Japan.
He graduated from Tokyo University (1912).
After graduating from Tokyo University (1912) and was in turn assistant and then professor (1929) there, and was placed in charge of sociology classes. He was an authority on family relations. After retiring from Tokyo University due to age limit (1947) served as member for several social committees, such as Educational Reform and Population Inquiry councils. He was president of Tokyo Home Economics College. His main work is titled "Lectures on Sociology."
