Tikhon Semenovich was an overseer of the Tambov Theological Seminary (1892-1893). He was a homiletics teacher at the Voronezh Theological Seminary (1893-1896). Voronezh diocesan missionary (1896-1902), inspector of public schools in Nizhnedevitsky district (1902-1906), Kharkov district of Kharkov province (1906-1909), director of public schools in Voronezh province (1909-1911).
Tikhon Semenovich was a managing director of the Museum of the Voronezh Church Historical and Archeological Committee (1901-1902). Official of the Ministry of National Education (1911-1917). Scientific Secretary of the Moscow Archaeological Institute (since 1920). He taught a course on the history of Old Believers in the Voronezh branch of Moscow Archaeological Institute (1921-1922).
