He graduated from the sanitary department of the Voronezh State Medical Institute (1931).
Vadim Alekseevich Pokrovsky was a researcher of the Occupational Health Sector at the Social Health Institute of Central Black Earth Region (1931-1933), an assistant of the Department of Hygiene of the Voronezh State Medical Institute (1936-1941), senior lecturer of the Department of Military Medical Training of the Voronezh State Medical Institute (1945-1946), associate Professor (1946), head (1948-1980), professor (since 1980) of the Hygiene Department of the Voronezh State Medical Institute.
He was a founder and head of the Voronezh scientific school on the problems of hygiene and toxicology of organic synthesis. Author of more than 300 scientific papers, including books: "Hygiene Textbook" (Moscow, 1961), "Toxicology and Hygiene of Synthetic Rubber Production" (Moscow, 1955), "Introduction to Geogigens" (Moscow, 1966, together with others) and others. Published in the magazine "Lifting", the almanac "Literary Voronezh". Author of the collection of poems "Glorious Life" (Voronezh, 1933).
