Valery Viktorovich Potanin was born on May 30, 1954 in Saratov, Russian Federation.
Valery Viktorovich graduated from the Voronezh State Institute of Arts in 1979.
Valery Viktorovich Potanin made a debut on the stage of the Voronezh Drama Theater as Yakovlev in the Fake Coin by Maxim Gorky in 1979. He became the winner of the All-Russian festival in Kostroma, dedicated to Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky (1983). In 1995-1998 worked as a teacher at the Voronezh State Academy of Arts.
Valery Viktorovich was a director of plastic in a number of productions of A.V. Ivanov. He had been conducting the creative workshop "Basics of Directing" and a theater studio at the Voronezh Lyceum No. 7 for more than 10 years. He was a director of urban children's theater festivals and performances.
His main stage roles are: Dandelion ("Privates" Alexey Dudarev), Egor ("Guilty" Alexey Arbuzov, director Roman Viktyuk), Verkhovensky ("Dictatorship of Conscience" Mikhail Shatrov), Kochkarev ("Marriage" by Nikolai Gogol) and many others.
