1912 graduate Yaroslavl’Teachers’Institute.
From 1912 taught in elementary school. Then taught Russian at Kineshma and Tver' higher elementary colleges. 1921-1930 taught at school, at workers’ faculty and teachers’ Institute in Kalinin.
1930-1936 head, Chair of Russian, Ferghana Teachers’ Training Institute. From 1938 worked in Moscow at Centr Teachers' Training Institute of National Minorities, Institute of Schools, and Advanced Training Institute for Education Workers. 1944-1949 at Research Institute of Teaching Methods.
1949-1965 at Research Institute of National Schools, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. Developed original methods of teaching Russian in non-Russian schools. Wrote textbooks, teaching aids and Russian-language curricula for Tuva, Uighur, Karakalpak, Lith, Mari, Tatar, Uzbek, Yakut, Khakas and other Soviet nationality schools.
