Vassa Stepanovna started creative work in Ukraine. She was a teacher and an artistic director of the ballet studio in Rostov on Don that was transformed into the Theater of Free Plastic (1928-1933). She toured with the studio around the Donbas and the Caucasus. The artistic director of the Voronezh Ballet School at the regional department of public education (1934-1936, the Karl Marx Club). Producer of classical, acrobatic, character, eccentric dances. The ballet-master of the Voronezh circus (1937-1940), where she performed the dances in the pantomime "The Humpbacked Horse". Organizer of the ballet evenings (Young Theater, Park of the Central District, club of the Office of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs, Karl Marx' Garden).
