Career

Professor Royal College, Mauritius, 1872-1880. Senior Professor, 1880-1886. Late District Medical Officer in Uganda and in South. Nigeria.

Medal with clasp, Uganda, 1897-1898.

Medal with clasp, Aro, 1901-1902. Discoverer of over 80 new African vertebrates and over 100 new African invertebrates.

The descriptions appeared in Proceedings of Zoological Society of London, Bulletins of the British Ornithologists’ Club, Under the African Sun, Novitates Zoologies, The Entomologist, Annals and Magazine of Natural History. Honourable.
