He graduated from Tokyo University (1929).
Yasusaburo Sugi was appointed lecturer of Tokyo Bunrika (Literature and Science) University (1934) and received a doctorate (1940). He was appointed lecturer of Tokyo University (1945) and professor of Tokyo Education University (1952).
Conducted a series of researches on electrophysiology. Wrote many books such as "Physiology," "Life and Science" and "Living Body." Also wrote many comments and essays on medical science and physiology.
