As a child fought alongside his father at the Battle of Takenoshita, Hakone.
Yoshiharu Wakiya helped Yoshisada Nitta to defend Kanagasaki against the forces of Ashikaga. Later with the support of Yoshiaki Uryu, he rose in arms for the Scuth Dynasty but failed in his attempt to defend Kanagasaki Castle.
After the death of his father, Yoshiharu Wakiya moved to Kozuke Province from were hi launched an attack against Takauji Ashikaga at Kamakura in 1352. He was defeated and had to retreat to Kawamura Castle, and then fled to Echigo, and from there to Dewa, after which nothing was heard from him.
