In 1921, he graduated from Tokyo University. Studied also in Europe and the United States. Studied in the United States on a Rockefeller scholarship.
Career
In 1923, he served as an assistant professor at his alma mater, at Tokyo University. In 1930, won his Dr. of Sci. degree and in 1935 became a professor of his alma mater concurrently director of the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory. An authority on gravitation astronomy, he wrote a book on the subject.
